AI Content (Oops)

We thought this was human-generated stock art in the WIX library. It's actually AI Generated.

We have been using what we believed was stock images provided by WIX, but were, in fact, generated by AI. Looking closer at the image now, we see undeniable tells about the fact, but the embarrassing truth is -- we missed it the first time. The hair-hand issue on the right, the cockeyed gaze on the left -- it's all there if you take time to look closely.

We are in the process of contacting an artist to provide some unique and VELP-specific artwork, and wanted to state clearly that we are not advocates of AI technology. We strongly believe that any benefit provided by AI to society is provided at the expense of hard-working individuals who have spent years honing their skills and abilities.

We apologize for the use of that content, and will be replacing it ASAP. Thank you very much for reaching out to let us know.

In the meantime, if you are an artist and wish to share your work online, we strongly recommend using tools such as Glaze, which obscures your art from being scraped, or Nightshade, which is part glaze and part AI-sabotage.
